The Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition and Riverside Theatre are partnering again as they present the 9th Annual Dancing with Vero’s Stars. It will be held at Riverside Theatre on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
“Our partnership with Riverside Theatre continues to be extremely successful for both of our non-profit organizations. Our new cast of dancers and instructors are very exciting and our plans for this coming year’s event are well on the way” comments Andrea Berry, Executive Director of IRC Healthy Start Coalition.
Jon Moses, Riverside Theatre’s Managing Director agrees. “We are now in the fourth year of this event partnership and having the ability to produce this amazing event for the community continues to be an honor for us. Our entire staff enjoys creating new ideas for the May event, allowing us to showcase our local dancing stars with a high quality production.”
For the second year, the event is chaired by former dancing stars Karen Franke (Sales Manager of Treasure & Space Coast Radio) and Adam Chrzan (who operates his own law firm and also sits on the Coalition’s board of directors). According to Franke, “Adam and I think that our individual styles of leadership, within the committee, will be once more be strongly reflected in the dancer selections as well as the overall event.” As in previous years, ten local stars will be matched with professional dance instructors. In addition to the ten dancer showcases, the event will also feature a stylish red carpet arrival, an entertaining cocktail party and a silent auction.
Star dancers, paired with their instructors, will train for a minimum of 20 hours over several months and gather community votes in advance of the evening on the website, www.Dancingwithverostars.com (now under construction) and then later at the dance competition itself. Each $1 raised will equate to a vote for the dancer. All dancers will be judged on 50% money raised for Healthy Start Coalition and 50% based on their dancing skills. The official announcement of the 2017 star dancers paired with their professional dance instructors will be made in mid-November following the official Meet & Greet mixer.
Dancing with Vero’s Stars is partnering once more with the Indian River Photo Club and Club photographers responsible for covering all facets of the event are Richard and Marcia Robertson and past club president Billy Ocker.
