The 10th annual Dancing with Vero’s Stars, to be held May 12 at Riverside Theatre, will showcase fresh new faces and a multitude of talents and attitudes not only on stage but from the four-person judge’s dais.
Always keeping a mixture of entertainment, experience and professionalism streaming from the Judges panel, some old faces, sprinkled with one new one, will be sitting at the helm of decision-making this year.
A new and exciting welcome goes to the ever upbeat and highly qualified dancer Barry Johnson who started dancing at 7 years of age after watching the Fred Astaire movie “Top Hat” and then never stopped! Co-owner, with his wife, of the Melbourne Ballroom, Barry is living his dream by teaching, dancing, and competing.
Returning to the judge’s panel for his third year is Vero Beach native Chris Foster who went on to achieve greatness in the world of entertainment that includes performing on cruise lines, featured roles in metropolitan and global productions, modeling in television commercial and billboard advertisements and choreographing world tours for celebrity artists.
Finishing up the trio of Judges is the fourth year return of well-known, Vero Beach High School award-winning drama teacher of 31 years, well-seasoned actress, choreographer, director, and mentor to many hopeful thespians, “Miss” Dee Rose Imbro! Dee has professionally performed, choreographed and directed while impressing upon her students … no matter what level of performance they are, if it doesn’t come from the heart, it doesn’t mean a thing.
The fourth chair at the Judge’s dais is for Vero Beach’s version of Price Waterhouse-and that is local CPA, Ross Cotherman of Rehmann, who happily returns to oversee and authorize the voting tabulations for the 3rd year. With over 30 years of accounting experience, Ross is in charge of Rehmann’s auditing services for the State of Florida, as well as a major supporter of local non-profit organizations.
This year’s dancers and their instructors are Dr. Katya Bailor with Manolo Soler, Tammy Bursick with Joe Wynes, Ben Earman with Kaylan Keathley, Richard Giessert with Marianella Tobar, Dr. Giuliana Diaz Jones with Joe Tessier, Tor Jones with Karren Walter, Angela Novak with Sergio Cisneros, David Thomas with Yvonne M.
