When you think of Valentine’s Day, you think of hearts and cupid, pink and red, and love. Star Dancer Robert Rivas held a heart-pumping, Valentine’s Day themed event as part of his journey to become the Mirrorball Winner of the 2019 Dancing with Vero’s Stars. Rivas, who is an Engineer and Fire Medic, hosted a fun-filled, challenging workout class at Lift Vero on Saturday, February 16th. All proceeds from the class were donated to Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition.

Decked out in their finest red and pink, the 30+ participants brought their all. The workout began with Rivas sharing information about IRC Healthy Start Coalition and Dancing with Vero’s Stars, followed by burpees, rowing, and planks. With their heart rates up, attendees finished the workout as teams. The fitness teams raced trucks by pulling them through the parking lot.

This amazing showcase of strength raised over $300, and participants had the opportunity to learn more about Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition and Dancing with Vero’s Stars.

If you missed out on the workout but would like to support Rivas, join him at Waldo’s at the Driftwood on Sunday, March 10th from 1pm – 4pm for raffles, live music, and great food, all in support of IRC Healthy Start Coalition. The Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition has been in operation for over 25 years and was established to address the high infant mortality rates and poor birth outcomes throughout Indian River County. The coalition strives to accomplish its mission through strong community partnerships with private and public sectors, maternal and child health providers, and consumers of services.
